OUR WEEK—JUNE 15TH - JUNE 21ST

REMINDERS — Prayer Shawl Ministry - Tuesdays in Adair U.M.C. - At 3:00 P.M. - In the Fellowship Hall. Please come join us. We create projects to minister to those who are grieving, lonely or sick as well as others who might be celebrating special events in their lives. While we work on projects for specific persons, we will also weave our prayers into them.

A friend once told me how much a hand-made quilt meant to her after her house burned to the ground. It was a quilt made by a group of church ladies much like ourselves. They gave the quilts to those who really needed them, and they were always very much appreciated. You might try crochet this time. Chain link several loops to other chains and it makes a nice open pattern that works very quickly. It's not your grandmother's crochet.

Sunday, June 15th — 5th Sunday after Pentecost. Our color is green.
Our scripture readings are:
Romans 5:1-8
Psalm 116
Matthew 9:35 to 10:835 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.
36
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
37
Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
Matthew 9:35-38 NIV

TODAY IS FATHERS DAY - HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL YOU GUYS WHO TAKE CARE OF YOUR CHILDREN, YOUR BROTHERS CHILDREN OR MAYBE FOSTER CHILDREN. You are our unsung heroes, you know. Yes, Mama may sit up with a sick child, and prepare some food, etc. — but when it comes right down to "Who is responsible for this child?" you are probably the one to raise a hand. We salute you, and we are very glad you are here. Have a Happy Day!

Q: How does our church receive credit through Rainbow Covenant for gifts given directly to non-profit organizations and local projects that were not sent through the Conference?
www.iaumc.org

A: The Monthly Remittance statement includes a section at the bottom which indicates how much has been given (or the value of items given) to local projects or other non-profit organizations. This report is provided to help with your recordkeeping and also these amounts are reflected in the statistical information that is printed in our Journal and sent to the General Board as part of our mission giving. You actually receive Rainbow Covenant credit when you fill out your Rainbow Covenant Report at the end of the year. The Rainbow Covenant Form on page five of the 2007 On the Road to Mission Rainbow Covenant Book should be sent to the contact person listed below.
