Sunday, April 27th—6th Sunday of Easter. Our colors are white or gold. The scripture readings for this day are:
Acts 17:22-31— WHAT IS THE NATURE OFGOD?
22
Then Paul stood up at the Areopagus and said: "You Athenians, I see that in every respect you are very religious.
23
For as I walked around looking carefully at your shrines, I even discovered an altar inscribed, 'To an Unknown God.' What, therefore, you unknowingly worship, I proclaim to you.
24
The God who made the world and all that is in it, the Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in sanctuaries made by human hands,
25
nor is he served by human hands because he needs anything. Rather it is he who gives to everyone life and breath and everything.
26
He made from one, the whole human race to dwell on the entire surface of the earth, and he fixed the ordered seasons and the boundaries of their regions,
27
so that people might seek God, even perhaps grope for him and find him, though indeed he is not far from any one of us.
28
For 'In him we live and move and have our being,' as even some of your poets have said, 'For we too are his offspring.'
29
Since therefore we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the divinity is like an image fashioned from gold, silver, or stone by human art and imagination.
30
God has overlooked the times of ignorance, but now he demands that all people everywhere repent
31
because he has established a day on which he will 'judge the world with justice' through a man he has appointed, and he has provided confirmation for all by raising him from the dead." NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
Psalm 66:8-20 (UMH 790)
1 Peter 3:13-22
John 14:15-21
"He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me; and he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him, and will disclose Myself to him." John 14:21

Will Casey U.M.C.have a shop as well?

Ilah Rumple sent the sweetest thank you card with an adorable angel on the front. The words she wrote inside are as follows:
To ABC Parish and SPPR
I would like to thank the ABC Parish and SPPR for the monetary gift. It was a surprise and a very much appreciated gift.

I miss seeing and talking to all the people at church, but do not miss the pressures of the job. I did enjoy working for the church, but being home has been great. I am anxiously awaiting Spring so I can enjoy retirement even more.
God Bless You All ~ Ilah

JUST GIVE ME JESUS
We brought back some Bible Study work from the "Just Give Me Jesus" meetings in Des Moines last Friday and Saturday. The Scripture texts are as follows:
Acts 7:55-60
Psalm 31:1-5, 15-16
1 Peter 2:2-10
John 14:1-14
For each passage, the questions we are asked to answer are:
1. Exactly what does the passage say? Make a list of the obvious facts.
2. What does the passage mean? What spiritual lessons or principles may be learned from these facts?
3. Now, what does this mean in your life? Construct a personal question that will have the most meaning to your own circumstance.
It may take a bit to learn this way of study, but it will give you much more meaning from what you read.

You have been very helpful this week and I DO appreciate it.
Stop in and say "Hiya" to Naomi in the office sometime.
Her hours are listed to the above right of this posting and she
will be happy to meet you.
Thank you for all your help.
God bless and keep you,
Pastor Lynn
