SCRIPTURE READINGS ARE: JEREMIAH 33:14-16
(New Living Translation) NLT
"The days are coming when I will fulfill the
promise" - - the prophet tells the people of Judah
in exile in Babylon. The promise is for a leader, a
"righteous branch" from the house of David, to
bring justice and righteousness to the land then
lying in ruins. This promised leader would later
be known in Judaism as "Messiah."

14 “The day will come, says the Lord, when I will do
for Israel and Judah all the good things
I have promised them.
15 “In those days and at that time
I will raise up a righteous descendant from
King David’s line.
He will do what is just throughout the land.
16 In that day Judah will be saved,
and Jerusalem will live in safety.
And this will be its name:
‘The Lord Is Our Righteousness.’”

PSALM 25:1-10 (UMH 756)
(Contemporary English Version) CEV
If we sincerely desire to know our duty, with
resolution to do it, we may be sure that God will
direct us in it. The psalmist is earnest for the
pardon of his sins. When God pardons sin, he is
said to remember it no more. Confess the need
for God to sustain you daily, to cleanse you from
sin, and lead you in paths of righteousness.

• A PRAYER FROM KING DAVID
• A PRAYER FOR GUIDANCE AND HELP

1 I offer you my heart, LORD God,
2 and I trust you.
Don't make me ashamed
or let enemies defeat me.
3 Don't disappoint any
of your worshipers,
but disappoint all
deceitful liars.
4 Show me your paths
and teach me to follow;
5 guide me by your truth
and instruct me.
You keep me safe,
and I always trust you.
6 Please, LORD, remember,
you have always
been patient and kind.
7 Forget each wrong I did
when I was young.
Show how truly kind you are
and remember me.
8 You are honest and merciful,
and you teach sinners
how to follow your path.
9 You lead humble people
to do what is right
and to stay on your path.
10 In everything you do,
you are kind and faithful
to everyone who keeps
our agreement with you.

1 THESSALONIANS 3:9-13 (Amplified Version) AV
He rejoiced at the good tidings of their faith
and love.
Thankfulness to God is very imperfect
in the present state; but one great end of the
ministry of the word is to help faith forward. That
which was the instrument to obtain faith, is also
the means of increasing and confirming it.
In Jesus the love and righteousness longed for
have been provided.
In the community called church, much love and
righteousness may abound.

9 For what adequate thanksgiving can we render to
God for you for all the gladness and delight which we
enjoy for your sakes before our God?
10 And we continue to pray especially and with most
intense earnestness night and day that we may see
you face to face and mend and make good whatever
may be imperfect and lacking in your faith.
11 Now may our God and Father Himself and our Lord
Jesus Christ (the Messiah) guide our steps to you.
12 And may the Lord make you to increase and excel
and overflow in love for one another and for all people,
just as we also do for you,
13 So that He may strengthen and confirm and establish
your hearts faultlessly pure and unblamable in holiness
in the sight of our God and Father, at the coming of our
Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints
(the holy and glorified people of God)! Amen, (so be it)!

LUKE 21:25-36 (New Living Translation) NLT
Those about Christ ask as to the time when the
great desolation should be. The signs of the end
Jesus announces look different from what the
folks who first heard Jeremiah's prophecy may
have expected. In the preceding verses,
Jerusalem is destroyed, not "established forever."
It is the destruction of Jerusalem rather than its
restoration that marks the beginning of the end.
It is worldwide suffering accompanied by
unstoppable cataclysm, not the progressive
development of a golden age of "peace on earth,
goodwill to men," that marks promised redemption.
THE PROPHESY
25 “And there will be strange signs in the sun, moon,
and stars. And here on earth the nations will be in
turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides.
26 People will be terrified at what they see coming upon
the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
27 Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a
cloud with power and great glory.
28 So when all these things begin to happen, stand and
look up, for your salvation is near!”
29 Then he gave them this illustration: “Notice the fig tree,
or any other tree.
30 When the leaves come out, you know without being
told that summer is near.
31 In the same way, when you see all these things taking
place, you can know that the Kingdom of God is near.
32 I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from
the scene until all these things have taken place.
33 Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will
never disappear.
34 “Watch out! Don’t let your hearts be dulled by
carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this
life. Don’t let that day catch you unaware,
35 like a trap. For that day will come upon everyone
living on the earth.
36 Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be
strong enough to escape these coming horrors and
stand before the Son of Man.”

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1ST —
DECEMBER 1 is "World Aids Day Observance."
ABOUT 33 MILLION PEOPLE worldwide are HIV/AIDS
infected, 2.7 million become newly infected each year
and more than 25 million people have died of
HIV/AIDS since 1981.
More than 15 MILLION CHILDREN worldwide
have lost one or both parents to HIV/AIDS.
Sub-Saharan Africa remains at the center of this crisis
with 22 MILLION PEOPLE affected with the HIV/AIDS
virus.
In a World Health Organization's study of women's
health around the world, HIV/AIDS has been found to
be the leading cause of death and disease in women
15 to 44 years of age.
Data shows 1 in 5 deaths among women is HIV related.
The World Health Organization (WHO) said
"This is a preventable tragedy. Education is the key to
eradication of AIDS from the earth. Until all government
leadership makes a point of speaking and teaching the
facts, there will be no change.
(UN - www.aidsaccountability.org)
YOU WILL NOTICE THAT THE UNITED STATES HAS
OVER 1,000,000 LIVING WITH AIDS. IF YOU THINK
THIS IS NOT OUR PROBLEM, THINK AGAIN.
United Methodists are called to address the AIDS
pandemic in local communities and around the globe.
Aids is still a relatively silent disease in the midwest.
It tiptoes quietly in the shadows and rarely announces
it's presence. I tell myself we are well educated on
the subject. They tell me this may not be true.
School children and teens still commonly think only
intravenous drug users and homosexuals will have
the disease. There is a very wide variation in the
standard of living we humans experience. We tend
to think this AIDS is a problem of destitute countries.Look at the map again. We are very much involved.
Without education, it can happen in the best families.

Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving! Take some time to
speak of your blessings. No, the world is not perfect.
More to the point, perfection to you may be very
different from someone elses "perfection".
Thank God we live in a country where you may pursue
your "perfections" right beside someone with very
different interests. We are blessed.

God Bless and Keep You,
Pastor Lynn
