REMINDERS—Prayer Shawl Ministry - Tuesdays in Adair U.M.C. - At 3:00 P.M. - In the Fellowship Hall. Please come join us. We create projects to minister to those who are grieving, lonely or sick as well as others who might be celebrating special events in their lives. While we work on projects for specific persons, we will weave our prayers into them.Wednesday, June 18th — Prayer Breakfast at 7:00 A.M. at Happy Chef.
Wednesday, June 18th— Martha Circle will meet at Casey U.M.C. at 6:30 P.M.
Thursday, June 19th— Deborah/Mary Circle will meet at 2:00 P.M.
Saturday, June 21st — U.M.C. Mother - Daughter Banquet at 6:30 P.M. in Casey United Methodist Church. The speaker for the evening is Jason Hart. His topic is "Conservation - Water and Life". He will probably begin in the sanctuary about 7:15 P.M., if any of you would like to come in and enjoy his message. We humans have a very difficult time changing our motivation from 20th Century "Whoever has the most toys wins" - to "Whoever saves the planet wins". I believe our focus is changing, but we do need to be reminded.

Sunday, June 22nd — This is the 6th Sunday after Pentecost. Our color is green. Our scripture readings for today are:
Psalm 86
1 • Hear me, LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and oppressed.
2 • Preserve my life, for I am loyal; save your servant who trusts in you.
3 • You are my God; pity me, LORD; to you I call all the day.
4 • Gladden the soul of your servant; to you, LORD, I lift up my soul.
5 • LORD, you are kind and forgiving, most loving to all who call on you.
6 • LORD, hear my prayer; listen to my cry for help.
7 • In this time of trouble I call, for you will answer me.
8 • None among the gods can equal you, O LORD; nor can their deeds compare to yours.
9 • All the nations you have made shall come to bow before you, LORD, and give honor to your name.
10• For you are great and do wondrous deeds; and you alone are God.
11• Teach me, LORD, your way that I may walk in your truth, single-hearted and revering your name.12• I will praise you with all my heart, glorify your name forever, LORD my God.
13• Your love for me is great; you have rescued me from the depths of Sheol.
14• O God, the arrogant have risen against me; a ruthless band has sought my life; to you they pay no heed.
15 • But you, LORD, are a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, most loving and true.
16• Turn to me, have pity on me; give your strength to your servant; save this child of your handmaid.
17• Give me a sign of your favor: make my enemies see, to their confusion, that you, LORD, help and comfort me.
Romans 6:1-11

I know, you have seen enough flood pictures to last a lifetime. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people who have lost most of what they have accumulated to help them live their lives. These next few weeks they will need more strength than they ever imagined. We pray that God will provide and they will accept.
Thank you for your help this week. We need all the wheels turning to keep the machine moving.
God bless and keep you.
Pastor Lynn
