Sunday, May 18th— This is the first Sunday after Pentecost/in Kingdomtide: Trinity Sunday. On this day, the church rejoices in the mystery that God is triune (three-in-one) -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Our designated color is white. Adair-Casey High School Graduation is at 2:00.

There will be a special Peace with Justice Offering today. Peace with Justice Sunday gifts are used to empower compassionate people to advocate for human rights, buy fair-trade products, care for the environment, demonstrate for important causes, eradicate poverty, feed the hungry, mediate conflict, provide health care, seek affordable housing and model nonviolence.

PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Our scripture readings for this Sunday are:
Psalm 8 (UMH 743)
PSALM 8 (New International Version)
O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
From the lips of children and infants
you have ordained praise
because of your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?
You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
You made him ruler over the works of your hands;
you put everything under his feet:
all flocks and herds,
and the beasts of the field,
the birds of the air,
and the fish of the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
2 Corinthians 13:11-13
Matthew 28:16-20
